HARMONY

Position: Honolulu Speech Language Pathologist

Where are you originally from? I’m originally from Rochester, NY

Start date at SSH? 1/7/2025, what a great way to start the new year!

What is your professional area of specialty? I am a traveling SLP, a lot of my job types are different and I am constantly learning new methods and working with various populations. I’d say across the board,  I specialize in Neurodiversity Affirming Practices for all kinds of minds.

What's your greatest accomplishment? I’d say my greatest accomplishment is keeping a curious mind and open heart through everything.

What is something you are great at (can be anything work related or not)? I’d like to think I’m great at maintaining a positive attitude and helping others.

What is your favorite food? this one is a tough one, but I love Ethiopian Food and fresh fruit (not together of course)

When you are not being an amazing SLP or admin what do you do for fun? (what's your hobby) I’m exploring new places (I’m an avid traveler) as well as a book worm. When I’m not doing those things, you can find me doing yoga, OM!

What's your favorite book? Wild, by Cheryl Strayed or Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed!

What's your favorite color? Yellow

What's your favorite movie? Hmm, something light usually. Maybe Disney’s Soul or Inside Out.

Who would play you in a movie about your life? I’ve been told by many people I have a resemblance to Amanda Seyfried so I suppose I’d say her for the looks & her gentleness.

What is your biggest pet peeve? when others talk around students/patients as if they are not there in the room.

What is something you want us to know about you? I’m a traveling SLP, I’ve worked in many different states across the county, but this is my first time being in Hawaii! I’m excited to learn about the language and culture, so please help me learn and soak it all in!

I’m enthusiastic for learning and creating authentic connections and relationships with others, and fostering that connection as well for students/patients with their circle of people. I’m eager to learn and more than anything, just grateful to be here! Mahalo!
